Passionated by watersports yes, but actually even more hooked on proposing a different solution to the watersports users that want to reduce their ecological impact on the planet when buying new gear.Here a few key points about how we reduce drastically our carbon footprint.
OUR PROCESS
First things first, how your foil is built. We produce our gear locally in Tarifa in a workshop located right under our office floor. We use 3d printing with a bio sourced filament to produce the core of our S002 and tail Wings and most of all of our molds. An average front wing mold takes about 100kgs of aluminium to produce, whereas ours consume only 3 kgs of biosourced plastic.
Our carbon and resin come from France and Germany to minimize our supply chain footprint.
Our graphics are made in the workshop. After we laser cut our stencles, we paint the foil ourselves.
Reactivity is the key to reduce overwastage of material, time and units. We store the minimum amount of gear to stay reactive to orders while only building what’s purchases on the markets. This means nothing goes to trash, litterally.
OUR PROXIMITY / LOCAL COMMUNITY
Being in Tarifa is a game changer for a few reasons. First of all from our side it means that we can go testing multiples times per day with a ridiculous footprint - there is beach right in front of the office - same for shootings.
For you, it means super short transports. We cut off the emissions and time of the standard Asian model.
For us, it means a direct benefit for our community. We trained local people to build the foils, interact every day with many watersport addicts coming to meet us and our workshop.
OUR ONIX EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Today, we are the first brand in the world to propose you to upgrade your foil wings whenever you need at minimal cost.
When you buy your first set up of wings at Onix you are given a code to register your purchase. Then you can return it in exchange of a new model &/or size.
Depending on the condition of the foil you return, the price for a new wing varies of 50% to 80% of the initial cost.
By offering this program we aim to give more awaireness to the riders to help building more sustainable oceans and planet. Build local, recycle local.
Our program also creates more proximity with you the riders as we can follow up on your progression, your needs and we can orient your journey towards the best Onix set of Wings to suit your style.
